Katherine & Mike at St Fagans National History Museum, Cardiff
If you grew up in South Wales during your primary years you probably have fond memories of school trips spent visiting this fabulous wedding venue – St Fagans National History Museum. Just outside of Cardiff, St Fagans is an outdoor folk museum filled with original rural buildings & quirky historical details. They’ve even rebuilt, brick by brick, the Oakdale Working Men’s Institute where my Dad used to play as a boy when it was still situated in the valleys. Katherine & Mike were married in the beautiful wood panelled hall of the Elizabethan Castle and later walked through the museum grounds to the Oakdale for the evening reception. It was a small, intimate celebration and many of Kat’s relatives flew in from Canada which I know made it extra special. There were lots of personal touches throughout; Kat and her bridesmaids handmade all the boutonnieres & bouquets which later doubled as the reception decor and Mike’s talented sister hand embroidered every single place name. Oh and check out Mike’s subtle Batman accessorising! (Thanks again to Simon Ayre for helping second shoot.)
