Gwenllian & Phillip at Glangrwyney Court, Crickhowell
Gwenllian & Philip were married in the beautiful August sunshine at Glangrwyney Court in Crickhowell, at the edge of the Brecon Beacon mountains. The ceremony was mostly Welsh speaking with Gwen’s sister & Phil’s brother performing an impressive bilingual version of Your Song. But you know for sure you’re at a Welsh wedding when, at the end of the service, the bride & groom announce they’d like all the guests to sing together, so completely unrehearsed and without a panic or a grumble, the whole room launch in to it, pitch perfect! Proper singing too, no-one was shyly shambling through. As a special request from the bride I photographed the group photo in the shape of a heart – a bit tricky to orchestrate while dangling from a first floor balcony, but I’m pleased it didn’t turn out wonky! Gwen’s gown came from Emma Philips Bridal Studio and her vintage pretty cocktail hat was by Lucy Brooke-Saunders Millinery, both in Carmarthern. In the evening I left the crowded dancefloor enjoying The Cherry Beats – my personal recommendation who always go down a storm! Thank you to Gwen’s friend (the stunning lady in red) who met me at a wedding fair and passed on my details to the bride & groom and thanks again to Simon for helping second shoot.
